Music Ministry
The Music Ministry at St. Colette Church presently consists of four choirs and one professional cantor under the direction of organist/choir director, Susan Garr. Membership to any of the choirs presently functioning is always open to interested parishioners.
Choir Ministries
Adult Choir
The Adult Choir is a vocal/guitar group of adult mixed voices which presently sings at the Sunday 9:30 a.m. Mass. Their season runs from mid-September through the end of May. Rehearsals for the Adult Choir are on Wednesday nights from 7:30- 9:00 p.m.
Resurrection Choir
The Resurrection Choir is an adult choir of mixed voices which sings at funeral liturgies throughout the year. The Resurrection Choir sings primarily in unison. This choir is "on call" for funeral liturgies during the day, during the church year.
Most funeral liturgies occur at 10:00 a.m. Monday - Saturday. An information sheet regarding music selections is available through the church office. Music minister must be contracted for participation by other soloists to coordinate rehearsals, music selection, etc.

Children's Choir
The Children's Choir is comprised of children generally ages 7-12. This choir sings at the Children's Mass on Christmas Eve and at the First Communion liturgies (usually in May). The children presently rehearse in the Music Room of the church on Wednesdays, from 4:30 - 5:15 p.m. Rehearsal tapes are provided for them to facilitate memorization of music, so reading skills while helpful, are not necessary.
Girl's Choir
The St. Colette Girl's Choir is made up of girls ages 13 - 17. They rehearse on Wednesday afternoons from 4:00 - 4:45 p.m. in the Music Room. They sing at the Youth Masses (once a month at 9:30 a.m.). They also join the Children's Choir for the Christmas Eve 5:00 p.m. Mass. Membership is open, call Susan Garr, minister of music.
Cantors
Presently, we have one professional cantor at St. Colette. He is Ryan Banar. Ryan cants at the 4:00 p.m. Saturday Mass and the 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Masses on Sunday. He is available to sing at funerals and weddings. For more information about his availability, please contact Music Minister, Susan. We encourage singers who are interested in canting to contact the music minister. Openings are available throughout the year for cantors, but especially in the summer months for cantors. An audition with the music minister is required. Rehearsals will be scheduled on an individual basis.
Wedding Music
Couples who are being married at St. Colette must contact the Music Minister, Susan for wedding music. If you choose not to use Susan as the organist, a "bench fee" of $100 will be charged. Outside soloists and instrumentalists are always welcome, but must contact Music Minister for coordination of efforts with her. Our cantor, Ryan is available to be contracted to sing at weddings. Music Minster, Susan also sings and can be contracted to play organ and sing as well.
