Announcements

Hello St. Colette teens!
With our schools, churches, and most other gathering spaces still not fully open, we will all need ways to connect with each other and our faith during this challenging time. The Youth Ministry Office is working on resources for to help you during this crisis and will be updating this page as often as possible.

**In-Person Gatherings - High School**
We are hoping to be able to resume in-person gatherings sometime this spring - to be notified be sure to be on our Flocknote YG list.

**Virtual Meetings - High School**
At the moment, all of our weekly meetings are virtual. Teens will be emailed/texted a meeting link on the day of. We are meeting every Monday night from 8-9pm.

** Service Projects - High School and Junior High**
We are working on some in-home service projects that teens can do on their own - more details to come.

**In-Person and Virtual Meetings - Junior High**
Our Junior High Group will be meeting once per month online, on Thursday nights. Our Junior High parent list will get details on gatherings in meeting weeks. If you are not getting an email with the link email us at youthministry@stcolette.net to be added to the list.

**Project YM**
During April and May, we were fortunate to have access to Project YM - a weekly youth gathering online that included guest speakers, praise and worship, and energizing prayer. The first "season" of these live nights has ended, but you are able to go back and watch video from each event. To access these, visit https://projectym.com/live/replay/

Newman Connection   The Newman Center is offering daily exercises in self care - spiritual, psychological, physical, emotional - each day will be different. You can also submit prayer requests to their community. Click on the link to sign up for a daily email.

Being careful about your news sources can help you to stay calm and be sure you are only consuming news based on scientific fact. Here are some good choices:
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention -

Johns Hopkins School of Public Health Coronavirus Resource Center - https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/
Wayne County Department of Public Health - https://www.waynecounty.com/departments/hhvs/wellness/novel-coronavirus-information.aspx

**Text and Phone**
Many of you already communicate with each other on social media and by text – now would be a great time to include people that you might normally only see in person. Mary Jo will be reaching out to you as well to check in periodically both individually and in group communications.

In the meantime, if you need anything, please get in touch! Mary Jo is always happy to talk to you about anything - if you’re nervous about what’s happening, tired of being at home, need to vent about something, or just bored – give her a call or text! You can try her cell at 248-421-7920 or our office phone at 734-464-1677. She's also great at helping with homework!

We’re sharing a prayer with you from the Archdiocese of Detroit to pray for those suffering:
A prayer for the sick, especially those suffering from the coronavirus
Loving God, you sent your son Jesus Christ to heal the sick. We ask you to come to our aid in the midst of the coronavirus crisis that we too may experience your healing love. We ask you to heal those who are sick. Calm those who are living in fear. Be with those who have died and comfort their families. Inspire health professionals to aid them in their healing work. Guide national leaders to lead and make decisions with wisdom. Help us to always be aware of your presence as we place our trust in you. We ask this in Jesus name. Amen.
