Welcome to the St. Colette Liturgical Ministries page! There are many tasks and roles which help serve our community  within the Mass and other liturgies/services. Please click on the ministry you would like to learn more about!

  • Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

    Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at Mass:

    These ministers have the amazing privilege of assisting at the Mass by helping with the distribution of Holy Communion. This Ministry is open to any fully initiated Catholic who is high-school age or older.


    Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to the Homebound:

    These ministers have the critical role of carrying Jesus (through the Eucharist) to be received by those who, due to illness or disability, cannot leave their home/place of residence.

  • Lectors

    Lectors have the incredible opportunity to proclaim the Holy Scripture at Mass or other liturgical events and read the Prayers of Fhe Faithful. This ministry is open to registered parishioners, who are Catholic and high-school age, or older.


    Special Training is required.

  • Altar Servers

    Altar servers assist at Holy Mass by carrying the cross, the processional candles, holding the book for the priest celebrant when he is not at the altar, carrying the incense and censer, presenting the bread, wine, and water to the priest during the preparation of the gifts or assisting him when he receives the gifts from the people, washing the hands of the priest, assisting the priest celebrant and deacon as necessary.


    Altar servers should have received First Holy Communion and have completed the midway-point of the third grade. Although this is a ministry is often undertaken by the young, it is also open to adults!

  • Altar Care

    This dedicated team helps to ensure that some very important elements in the church are properly prepared for the Mass. Cleaning and placement of altar linens and purificators, proper placement of candles and filling of holy water fonts are a few of their duties.

  • Ushers

    This ministry is open to men and women, who are registered parishioners and are high school age and older. They greet people and guests at the church doors, locate seating, take up collections, assist during liturgies, assist during emergencies, and distribute the church bulletin.

  • Church Decorating Committee

    The members of this committee (also known as the Art & Environment Group) decorate the church at Christmas and Easter and care for the church flowers that enhance our worship space throughout the rest of the year.
