Altar Servers

This ministry is open to children (boys and girls third grade and older) male and female adults who serve at the altar during Mass.

We are currently in great need of altar servers to serve at weekend Masses! When we hear the term “altar servers” we often think of children and teens who volunteer to serve at the altar during Mass. However, most of us don’t realize that altar serving is not limited to children and teens. Adults are welcome to serve as well. Altar serving at St. Colette Parish is open to all males and females from the third grade and older. If you are an adult male and served as an altar server in your youth, or, always wanted to serve but didn’t get the opportunity, you are a perfect candidate. If you’re an adult female who in your youth wanted to be an altar server but were not allowed to serve because at that time it was limited only to boys, then you too are a perfect candidate. A husband and wife may serve together as a couple. A parent (or parents) can serve with their child or children and make it a family activity.

Maybe God is calling you or your child to be an altar server here at St. Colette Parish. If your child is a third grader or older, a teen, or if you yourself are interested in volunteering as an altar server here at St. Colette Parish, please contact the parish office at 734-464- 4433 or at [email protected]. Prior to serving at the altar there is a brief training session and new servers usually serve with veteran servers prior to serving alone at Mass
