First read the letter below from the Archdiocese of Detroit regarding Protecting God's Children

The easiest way for volunteers to complete their training is to do online. If it is your first time it will be over Zoom or if you are due for recertification it can be completed through Virtus. The Office of Child and Youth Protection from the Archdiocese of Detroit has significantly cut back on in-person Protecting God's Children sessions due to the success of the live Zoom webinars. However, the office has also received a great deal of feedback about parish/school volunteers who do not use technology, do not have a computer, or do not understand how to use technology but would like to continue to volunteer and need in person training. To reach those individuals, we will be facilitating an in-person class at St. Colette, in Livonia, on Monday, September 11th, from 6pm-9pm.

The capacity for this class is 200 participants, we highly encourage all those who volunteer and still need to take Protecting God’s Children to attend this session. This session will be for any new volunteers or those volunteers who need recertification. ANYONE WHO WORKS/VOLUNTEERS FOR THE CHURCH MUST TAKE PROCTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN.

All participants must be preregistered for the class through Virtus. If the participant does not use technology, it is up to the local administrator to assist with the registration process.
