Confirmation
Confirmation is a Catholic Sacrament of mature Christian commitment and a deepening of baptismal gifts. It is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation for Catholics. It is most often associated with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Students in 8th grade are invited to prepare for this sacrament. Preparation begins in the fall of the 8th grade academic year with the sacrament being celebrated in the fall of the 9th grade academic year. Preparation involves three in-person meetings plus an in-person, day-long retreat, along with some at-home work. Following preparation there are two additional dates: a rehearsal in the Church and the celebration of the Sacrament.
If your child is older than 8th grade but still in high school, they are still able to participate in our Confirmation Preparation program with other teens. If an adult wishes to be confirmed, we have a separate Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. Contact the Religious Education Office at 734-464-4435 for more info about RCIA.

It's always a good idea to plan ahead for any service projects you'd like to tackle - many organizations require advance notice and trying to get it done at the last minute doesn't always work. With the upcoming school break you could consider using one of your vacation days to do some service, either at home or at a charity site. Or, use the time to research the type of service you'd like to do and plan a time to do it. Remember, you need to do two different service projects before your confirmation next fall. The Youth Ministry Office offers service options as well - see the Sign Up Genius link below.
