Fall 2017 Adult Series: Sickness & End of Life Issues
This series was a four week discussion to prepare ourselves for the inevitable encounter of serious illness and the end of life. We approached a sensitive topic that most of us would rather ignore. Truth is that this life is temporary, and those who have dealt with the loss of a loved one will say that the issues one deals with without having these important conversations only makes a difficult time worse. “If only I had known what their wishes were…” We encourage one and all to take this opportunity to become exposed to important information which we hope will open us up to discussion with those we love
Theresa Lisiecki offers a wonderful explanation of those topics rarely discussed: The teachings of the Catholic Church on Illness and Death. She also provides information on the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick and Viaticum.
