IN-PERSON SCAP REGISTRATION 2025

Monday, May 5th, 2025, marks the start of the registration process of  St. Colette’s summer SCAP program. What is SCAP you say? It is our Summer Catechesis Alternative Program. It runs for two weeks (Monday - Thursday) from June 16, 2025 – June 26, 2025, 5:30-9:00 PM (with Fridays off). Only volunteers can register early.
 
Registration is online on our website under our Religious Education/Faith Formation tabs under "SCAP 2024." Registration opens on May 5th at  8 AM and ends May 21st at 4 PM. It is for grades 1-8. Spaces are limited to 15 students per class and are on a first come first served basis. It is open to our St. Colette family, our family of parishes, and the surrounding areas.

PLEASE NOTE:  If you are from a parish other than our "Family of Parishes" and this is your FIRST time registering with St. Colette, you will need to provide PROOF of religious education to our offices if you have attended catechism elsewhere.

Within three (3) days of online registration, ALL families are required to pay at least 50% of the total tuition with the balance to be paid in full the week prior to your child starting the program. Of course, payment in full at the time of registration is ALWAYS accepted. You must be in person to pay by debit/credit card during Religious Education office hours. Please contact the office for payment details. Check payments may be dropped off 24/7 in the mail slot of the Religious Education doors located near the Activities Center. Please mark on the envelope the student's name, tuition and fees.
 
Because this is an accelerated program, there cannot be ANY absences, early dismissals, or arriving more than an hour late during the entire two weeks; no exceptions.  ALL PROGRAM DAYS ARE MANDATORY, IN-PERSON 5:30 - 9 PM, TO RECEIVE FULL CREDIT OF THE CLASS.  We do not offer makeup days for SCAP. We cannot excuse days off for sports, pre-planned vacations, extra curricular activities or last-minute events. This MUST be a full, 8-day commitment.

If you find that there will be conflicts of any kind with our scheduled program, we offer a fall homeschooling option that might best suit your needs and registration for that program begins in August 2025.  And, if St. Colette's homeschooling program does not fit into your family's schedule, you have other options.  Please check out the Religious Education programs that our "Family of Parishes" have to offer. Please note that students registered for SCAP will be added to the classes in the order in which they register - even if the site accepts your registration, the class may have already been filled. Your registration is date and timestamped so they will be processed in the order in which they are received. We will process the registrations as quickly as we can and if any class fills up, we will post that on our website.
 
Seeing that our program is volunteer based, the need for volunteers is GREAT. Without them, the program cannot exist. So, if you have some free time for two weeks and would like to help in the form of a teacher, teacher’s aide, art, bible, music, hospitality, etc., we would LOVE to have you! Please reach out to the Religious Education department for further details.

What is SCAP?

Our Summer Catechesis Alternative Program is a two-week program for students who are unable to participate in a traditional year religious education program due to school or family commitments. Each of the 8 program days has lessons with a classroom teacher, along with arts and crafts, music, Bible Story time, and snack/recess time. Students attend SCAP in the summer prior to their school year grade - so a student who is entering 1st grade in the Fall would be in the 1st grade SCAP class during the June session before their 1st grade year starts (unless you are playing academic catch-up for missed grades). Students do anywhere from 5-7 chapters per day because this is an accelerated program. Therefore, there cannot be any missed days, late arrivals or early exits. We do not have makeup days for SCAP.

Volunteers Needed!

We can't run a program as big as SCAP without a LOT of volunteers! We are most in need of classroom teachers, but also need aides, snack aides, office aides, etc. Volunteering for SCAP is a rewarding, energetic, and fun experience! We need volunteers to commit to the whole SCAP timeframe. If you're interested in volunteering, please contact us! We will also have some volunteer opportunities in the weeks before SCAP helping prepare materials.
